CCTV Monitoring
CCTV security stands for closed-circuit television security.
More specifically, it describes the use of security cameras to transmit
signals to a specific location. It is not openly transmitted, like broadcast
television. Rather, it involves limited monitoring.
The first CCTV security system was set up in 1942. It was actually
not set up to monitor criminal activity. Instead, it was utilized in
Peenemünde, Germany to monitor the launch of V2 rockets.
CCTV security monitoring can serve a couple different functions. Individuals
who see such a system set up are less likely to commit crimes. The systems
can also operate after events as evidence for prosecution. In addition
to this, having a security issue on record can aid a home or business
owner in better defending his or her property in the future.
